Singing Holiday hymns and Christmas carols with friends and family is a tradition that brings warmth on both sides of the Atlantic. Many of the French holiday songs have a familiar ring which makes it easy to learn French words as you sing and have fun at the same time. Below is a selection of popular tunes that will entertain French learners of all ages.

- Vive le vent (sung to the tune of "Jingle Bells" with very different lyrics)

- Mon beau sapin (French version of "O Christmas Tree")

- Le petit renne au nez rouge ( French version of "Red-nosed reindeer")

- Minuit, Chrétien (French version of "O Holy Night")

- Douce nuit, sainte nuit ( French version of "Silent Night")

- L'enfant au tambour (French version of "Little Drummer Boy")

- Petit papa Noël ( French carol with no English equivalent, this song is written from the perspective of a child, wishing for toys on Christmas morning).

- Il est né le divin enfant (Another French Christmas Carol with no English equivalent sung at the traditional midnight mass)

Tis the season to be jolly and celebrate en français !
